Horizon Zero Dawn Out Now On PC With Extra Graphical Features For AMD GPUs

Horizon Zero Dawn, the 2018 PlayStation exclusive from Guerrilla is now available on PC.

The PC version has a few extra graphic features for those running on AMD hardware. It supports AMD FideltyFX. This is a suite of a bunch of graphical features. This includes AMD FideltyFX Single Pass Downsampler (SPD).

It’s a new feature that debuts first on Horizon Zero Dawn. Without going too technical, it downsamples massive textures in one go (hence single-pass) and can be done asynchronously which helps improve other post-processing effects like bloom and screen-space reflections.’

The FideltyFX effects should improve graphics without a big cost to performance.

Horizon Zero Dawn also supports AMD Radeon FreeSync Premium Pro (no stuttering and screen tear, plus HDR support), asynchronous compute that allows Radeon GPUs to execute multiple tasks simultaneously and AMD TressFX. This is the hair physics system AMD had for a while. Now Aloy can join Lara Croft with having their luscious locks flowing in the wind thanks to physics.

Horizon Zero Dawn is out now on PC via Steam (for RM80) and Epic Games Store. This is the complete edition, which also includes The Frozen Wilds expansion.
