Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores DLC Requires Completion Of The Main Quest To Start

PlayStation announced that the PS5-only DLC for Horizon Forbidden West, Burning Shores, is now available for pre-order, with a pre-order dye and Sharpshot Bow as in-game item bonuses for those that do.

But what’s more interesting in the announcement is the reveal of how to gain access to the DLC. It looks like Burning Shores is a post-game DLC.

The PlayStation Blog says that you need to finish the main quest, including the final quest Singularity. After that, protagonist Aloy will receive a call over her Focus that signals the start of Burning Shores.

From there, you’ll be trekking down to a new region south of the Tenakth Clan Lands to begin the Burning Shores DLC proper. The DLC will see a post-post-apocalyptic Los Angeles engulfed in water and also in flames as the lands there become volcanic.

Horizon Forbidden West Burning Shores DLC will be out on April 19 only for PS5. The base game is available now on PS4 and PS5, including on the PS Plus Game Catalog for PS Plus Extra subscribers and above. You can find our review of the game here.
