Here’s an inventive indie game that makes you think but also ponder. Belgian indie devs Business Goose Studios has announced their next game, Swan Song. A demo is currently available.
Swan Song revolves around a music box, where you must solve puzzles. The puzzles are represented as moving mechanical platforms where a little toy swan must be navigated across. To do so, you don’t directly interact with the platforms. Rather, you have a music sheet to compose a melody, where figuring the right one will send the swan safely across the level.
You can play Swan Song by ear, or leverage your logical thinking and see it manifest into a nice little tune.
The soundtrack for Swan Song is composed by Jamal Green.
The demo not only gives players a glimpse of how the nifty puzzler plays, but also experience “the emotional journey of family, loss, and acceptance at the heart of Swan Song.” The low-poly aesthetic and somber narrative should prepare you that the game’s title does carry the meaning of the same English phrase.
Swan Song has no release date yet, but it’s coming to PC (Steam).
