The folks at Playground Games have revealed the soundtrack and radio stations coming to Forza Horizon 5.
The open-world racing game will feature familiar stations, some new and returning radio DJs, and a host of new songs, some of which will be streamer-friendly and be available in the new streamer mode option that disabled copyrighted songs.
There’s no dedicated Mexican radio station, to complement the new setting of Mexico. As explained in the recent “Let’s ¡Go!” live stream, the devs were advised against doing so in favour of featuring Mexican artists across all the stations.
“In Mexico, when you turn on the radio, you wouldn’t listen to a station and just listen to all genres of music, only just Mexican music all day long,” said game director Mike Brown. “In Mexico they would have a pop music station that would play some Mexican pop music some, some US pop music, some European pop music. So they’ll have a rock station which focuses on Mexican rock and international rock.
“It’s actually more authentic, and frankly, much better for the soundtrack to, rather than going with a dedicated Mexican station to rather make sure that all of our stations have a selection of Mexican and Mexican-inspired music.”
So songs by Mexican artists will be featured across all of the radio stations in Forza Horizon 5.
We don’t get all the exact songs just yet, only the artists’ name, though that will be revealed in due time as Horizon 5 comes nearer to release.
