Marvel’s Wolverine, the next game by Insomniac Games, is not playing around with depicting the angry Canadian that can sprout claws from his knuckles, and the latest gameplay reveal for the game reinforces this notion yet again.
The new gameplay trailer that headlined the June 2026 State Of Play broadcast shows Wolverine about to save some mutant children. And he goes into a tear, with limbs and heads dismembering. Wolverine is not for the weak of heart, it’s gushing with blood in every combat encounter, which is what most of the game looks to be about.
There’s also, if you can believe it, stealth sections in that you can try and keep a low profile with your murdering. But when all hell’s break loose eventually. Wolverine can make use of the environments by throwing goons into a pile of destructible pallets, or skewer them to a forklift. Yeah. But it’s all in the name of saving those kids.
The cheeky folks at Insomniac made sure you get a good look at all those reflective puddles. There’s a lot of wet puddles.
On top of all this, there’s a cameo of Jean Grey, where Wolverine can do team-up attacks with. The game teased more Marvel characters that is set to appear, including Sabretooth and a certain red-clad merc.
Marvel’s Wolverine will be out on September 15 for the PS5.
