We all love a good mystery, especially when a group of kids or teens are on the job. The Goonies. Stranger Things. IT. Persona 4.
Now how about a game where you play as one of these kids alongside others and investigate something that’s off within the neighbourhood? The Blackout Club is doing so in the form of multiplayer co-op, investigating these ‘blackouts’ that seems to affect the people around town but only you meddling kids would believe such a thing.
Each night, you and your friends will out and about searching for clues of the strange things that is happening, recording video evidence on smartphones and exploring the town.
Developed by Question Games, a small indie team of former Bioshock developers, which made The Magic Circle a few years back.
The premise is intriguing, but there is still little info about the game. In an interview with Game Informer, Jordan Thomas from Question Games mentioned that it will have procedural missions for each night, a well-constructed town, levelling and loot plus a strong focus on relying on mechanics interacting with each other like immersive sims. Also, expect Lovecraftian horror elements.
The Blackout Club is set to be released in 2019 for the PS4, PC and Xbox One.
