Final Fantasy XVI Update 1.03 Adds New Control Layouts And Other Quality-Of-Life Improvements

A new update for Final Fantasy XVI has gone live today. Update 1.03 is mostly adds quality-of-life improvements, so don’t expect any performance improvements or new content here.

The most notable addition is three more controller layouts. FFXVI does not support custom binding, but if you are one of the folks who is annoyed that the dodge/evade button is R1 and not circle, you can now try out layout type F which only swaps the two buttons compared to the default (layout type A) controls.

New options include Motion Blur Strength, toggles for Player Follow (Movement) and Player Follow (Attack) where turning off stops the camera from autotracking and following the character, and an increase of Camera Sensitivity (Horizontal) and Camera Sensitivity (Vertical) from 10 to 20.

Final Fantasy XVI is out now on PS5. Check out our review of the game here.
