The second of two DLCs coming to Final Fantasy XVI, The Rising Tide, will arrive this April.
This expansion will see Clive and his party journey into Mysidia and rescuing the Eikon of Water and Dominant Of Leviathan. Long thought to be lost, Leviathan, like all other Eikons, will bring new movesets for Clive. Leviathan’s Eikonic Feat, Serpent’s Cry, summons a sea-serpent that can strike at long range.
If Echoes Of The Fallen is just a new dungeon, The Rising Tide adds a new area with side stories on top of one new stage (linear level).
The DLC will also add a new endgame mode, Kairos Gate. It’s a wave-based battle over 20 stages, with an online leaderboard. New materials and weapons are available for upgrade in this mode.
Final Fantasy XVI The Rising Tide DLC will be released on April 18. Alongside the paid content is a free update which adds quality of life changes including fully customisable control scheme, and saved loadouts in the form of Skill Set.
Final Fantasy XVI is out now on PS5, with a PC release coming soon. Check out our review of the game here.
