Fall Guys Is A Battle Royale That’s All About Completing Obstacle Courses and Mini-Games Ala Takeshi’s Castle

Imagine a battle royale game, but there’s no killing involved. Instead there’s many different mini-games you have to endure and win to be the ultimate winner. That’s the pitch for the jolly-looking Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout.

Revealed in Devolver’s expectedly bizarre E3 press conference, Fall Guys see 100 players competing, and sometimes co-operating together, as they try to survive the many gauntlets of challenges being thrown at. Jumping though obstacles, falling through a pachinko hole, knocking over teams on a skateboard, and other elaborate obstacle courses.

The characters you play as are customisable and will all react to physics as they fumble about through the challenges.

And you know what this is reminiscent of? The weird Japanese game show Takeshi’s Castle. Though it’s mostly the parts with the wacky obstacle courses, which sounds like a good time, especially with goofy physics mixed in. Though, unlike Takeshi’s Castle, it doesn’t seem like Fall Guys will feature a mini-game where you have to sing karaoke to advance.

Anyway, if you’re looking for some wholesome fun against 99 other players, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is set to be released sometime next year for the PS4 and PC (Steam) next year.
