The yearly F1 games by Codemasters always include a large chunk of content only available for the more expensive Deluxe Edition. And now we know one feature coming to the F1 2021 Deluxe Edition: Iconic drivers for MyTeam mode.
MyTeam mode, introduced in 2020, lets you run an additional 11th team on the Formula 1 grid, and you have full control of how to build the facilities, cars and who your second driver is as a driver/owner. The driver pool is derived from the F1 and the junior F2 series.
So for F1 2021, Deluxe Edition players get access to seven more drivers, all of them legends in their own way. Five of them are F1 world champions.
Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost, Jenson Button, Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher can be your teammate, all with exorbitant salary prices and ridiculous stat. Schumi particular is the highest rated among the legends with all stats in the 90s mark- awareness is his lowest, which checks out.
In addition, you can also recruit David Coulthard and Felipe Massa, both having long careers in the sport and have come close to a world championship.
The Deluxe Edition will also include extra customisation items, 18,000 Pitcoin (in-game currency) and an item pack inspired by this year’s new story mode: Braking Point.
F1 2021 will be out on July 16 on PS4 and Xbox One, and July 17 on PC (Steam) for Asia.
