The PS4 exclusive futuristic anti-gravity racing game remaster Wipeout Omega Collection is getting a free update to add PS VR support. Announced at PSX 2017, you can now ride inside the cockpit of these ships and drive through all of the twisty and vertigo-inducing tracks as featured in Wipeout 2048, HD and Fury.
While you can race in all tracks, even online, with VR, it seems not all of the ships will be so. The wording on the Playstation Blog says there will they have made three new ships for VR use and did not mention all the ships will be available like they mentioned the track. The cockpit view of these three ships will be using 3D audio and you can have a glance around it to see upcoming turns from the left, right and even from the top.
The Wipeout Omega Collection was announced last year at PSX. It was released back in June, which we said to be “still fun today, even if takes some time and practice to master the faster speeds,” as per our review here. The free VR update will arrive in early 2018.
