Fighting game players around the world will be congregating to Singapore next year for the debut of Evo Singapore.
The Evolution Championship Series (Evo) used to be just one event, the premier fighting game event with an open invite where just about anyone can sign up, rock up to the venue and compete in double-elimination tournament featuring thousands of competitors. It has since expanded worldwide with events across the world.
Evo Singapore will be happening from January 15 to 17, 2027 at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Center, Singapore. Tickets are now available for purchase. Competitors can sign-up for the tournaments here though registering to compete won’t grant a ticket for the event, so competitors still need to purchase one. Tickets are in available as one-day passes or a three-day pass granting the access to the entire weekend.
Through the official ticketing site, one can also book a nearby hotel, though at the time of writing about 40 minutes since the announcements, these have mostly sold out.
Evo has revealed the official featured tournaments to take place at Evo Singapore 2027. The tournament for these official games will feature a minimum guaranteed prize pool of $125,000 USD (roughly RM505,000):
- Street Fighter 6
- Tekken 8 (Last Chance Qualifier for Tekken World Tour 2026 Global Finals)
- Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls
- Guilty Gear Strive
- Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising
In addition, the Tekken World Tour 2026 Global Finals will also take place during that event. The standard ticket to Evo Singapore 2027 includes access to the finale of Tekken 8’s 2026 tournament circuit.
Evo these days is more than just a fighting game tournament. Alongside casual setups and community-run tournaments via BYOC (Bring Your Own Community) areas, there are also plenty to see and do as a casual fighting game enjoyer, or just a gamer in general. Other on-site happenings that will take place at Evo Singapore 2027 includes the following:
- Evo Museum with an all-new History of TEKKEN World Tour exhibit
- Flash tournaments including legacy fighting game titles
- Evo Friday Night Showdown Presented by Visa
- Evo Meet & Greet featuring top players, TEKKEN World Tour talent, and developers
- Casuals offering dedicated space to play all weekend
- Evo Arcade Zone offering classic and modern cabinets
- Evo Cosplay Exhibition & Meet Ups
- Vendors & Merch featuring exclusive gear, art, and goods from FGC-favorite creators and brands
- BYOC (Bring Your Own Community) Where players can run additional community run tournaments in games beyond the official lineup
“Singapore has a vibrant history with fighting games; including producing Evo champion Xian, former world tour qualifier events like Southeast Asia Major, and hosting offices for multiple fighting game publisher,” said Rick Thiher, GM for Evo. “We’re excited for Evo and the TEKKEN World Tour 2026 Global Finals to be part of the Lion City’s ongoing legacy.”
For those unable to make the trip, The Evo YouTube and Twitch channels will be covering the Tekken World Tour 2026 Global Finals as well as the various Evo tournament from the pools to the Top 8.
What started out as Battle By The Bay, Evo is now a “fighting game festival” that takes place around the world. The mainline Evo still takes place annually in Las Vegas every August. Evo Japan started in 2018. Evo France was first held in 2025. Evo Singapore is the latest expansion event beyond Vegas.
