Endless Legend 2 Reveals The Religiously Scientific Playable Faction The Tahuk

Endless Legend 2 will launch later today in Early Access. Hooded Horse and Amplitude Studios have now since reveal the fifth and for-now final playable faction in the 4X strategy game, the Tahuk.

Devout believers of the Endless, the Tahuk may aesthetically and thematically be a religious faction, but gameplay wise they’re the science powerhouse. That fervent belief and faith is expressed in Libraries, Observatories and their high-tech military that favours ranged combat.

The Tahuk’s main gameplay hook is the Sacred Oculum, an Endless relic powered by science production for various abilities, from galvanising people to destroying land. The Tajuk can also train Missionaries that acts as scouts—able to collect resources as well as keep an eye on enemy movement.

Military-wise, the Tahuk has mobile archers and long-range artillery. Any Tahuk unit can illuminate targets, allowing the next unit to strike them advantageous thanks to a buff.

Endless Legend 2 will launch with five playable factions, each symmetrically designed to favour a specific playstyle, like how the Tahuk are science-based devotees. The previously revealed factions are the turtling Kin, the diplomatic Aspects, the ever-consuming warring Necrophage and the no-food-only-dust husks of The Last Lords. A decent selection to kick off the Early Access release.

The sequel to 2013 Endless Legend, Endless Legend 2 marks the first game Amplitude is publishing after becoming an indie dev once more, and the next big release following up Humankind, their take on a Civ-like historical 4X strategy game, a title that may or may not rub some influences into this year’s Civilization VII, for better or worse.

Endless Legend 2 launches today, September 22, on Early Access via PC (Steam, Microsoft Store). The game is also available on Game Pass.
