Elden Ring has been updated. The new 1.14 patch brings various bug fixes, but more importantly, it has nerfed the overtuned final boss fight that awaits the end of the Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC.
The final boss fight now deals less damage and stamina damage on some attacks, the range of “non-weapon-based attacks” have been reduced, some attack effects has improved visibility. Also, the opening attack the final boss does just as you enter the arena has also be changed.
For some players, including us, the final boss fight at the end of Shadow Of The Erdtree was a bit too difficult to be a fun challenge. So for those that have given up, now’s a good time to give it a go again.
But for those who did beat them before this patch, you too can claim you’ve beaten Radhan before he was nerfed, again. Funny how history repeats itself.
The rest of the patch notes, found here, also bring balance changes to various arrmament types, weapon arts, spells and incantations. In particular those newly introduced by the DLC.
This should make the journey through the Shadow Realm just a little less punishing now that more options have been made slightly viable. Which is what a good action-RPG should do.
Elden Ring and Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC is out now on PS4, PS5, PC (Steam), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Check out our review of Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC here.
