CD Projekt Red Affirms Cyberpunk 2077 December Release Amid Rumours Of Another Delay

CD Projekt Red has spoken to IGN that its upcoming game Cyberpunk 2077 is still set to release on December 10.

“As a rule, we don’t comment on rumours or speculation,” the CD Projekt Red representative told IGN. “But I will confirm we were just taking time to update all of our assets to reflect the new launch date of December 10th.”

Cyberpunk 2077 was first expected to release in April this year before being delayed to September, and then to November, and recently to December 2020 despite already gone gold.

The Cyberpunk Twitter account header has been updated to have the December 10 date displayed- again, to reassure that (hopefully) there’s no more delays. Not like last time.

Rumours are currently swirling that Cyberpunk might again be delayed into 2021.

PC Gamer reports that the rumour started from this tweet from a peculiar account, with a history of accurate (but also inaccurate) industry leaks.

The recent Cyberpunk delay was attributed with having to ensure all different platforms, including next-gen consoles and Stadia, run the game as best it can. The developers are also backing down from its word to not crunch by now having mandatory six-day work weeks to get Cyberpunk done.

Cyberpunk 2077 will (hopefully) be out on December 10 for the PS4, PC, Xbox One and Stadia. Enhanced PS5 and Xbox Series versions will be coming later, and will be a free next-gen upgrade.
