Somehow, Bubsy the Bobcat has persisted since his reappearance towards the spotlight back in 2017.
With the titular bobcat now getting a sequel to his failure of a 3D Platformer back on the PS1 era, now developed by Indie Dev, Fabraz (developers of solid indie platformers like Slime-san and Demon Turf) and published by Atari, it does actually looks remarkable.
Announced during the recent Gamescom Opening Night Live Pre-show, This new game will be Bubsy’s 2nd crack at a 3D platformer, which looks judging by the trailer, looks like a solid offering with power-ups and planets to roam around.
This new Bubsy is also voice by Sean Chiplock, of Kinger from The Amazing Digital Circus fame, and so far sound rather pleasant with digs at other characters such as Mario, or asking why he still doesn’t have pants in the many costumes he has, which includes his Bubsy 3D self, much to his dismay.
No release date has been set for the game, but Bubsy 4D is set to launch on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch sometime soon.
In the meantime, you can also check out the upcoming Bubsy in : The Purrfect Collection that also include a reworked version of that infamous PS1 game and that’s coming in September 9 digitally.
