Broken Pieces Is A Psychological Thriller With A Camera System From ’90s Survival Horror Games

Revealed at the IGN Expo/Summer Of Games broadcast is an interesting new game called Broken Pieces.

Developed by Elsewhere Experience, the game has you play as Elise as she ended up stuck not only in a French coastal town, but also in a time loop.

The biggest draw of Broken Pieces when watching the trailer is how it is strongly influenced by survival horror games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill. Not only does it have puzzles to solve, the game has a fixed camera angle.

On the game’s Steam page, the developers describe it as a “camera system that accompanied legendary sagas such as Silent Hill or Resident Evil, in a completely revised version aimed for more flexibility.”

The aesthetic choices have made fans comparing Broken Pieces to Life Is Strange so far, but its gameplay influences is an even deeper cut. Is tank controls coming back?

Broken Pieces will be out in Q2, 2022 for the PS4, PS5, PC (Steam), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
