BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Coming In 31st May For Japan And Asia

20 characters on launch, another 20 as DLC

Arc System Works’ other fighting game now has a release date. The 2D fighter with characters from Blazblue, Persona 4 Arena, Under Night In-Birth (UNIEL) and Rooster Teeth’s animation series RWBY will have a 20 character roster when it launches on 31st May for Japan and Asia. North America will be getting it on June 5.

The roster is rather small for a 2v2 tag-team game with crossover characters. To make matters worse, the developers have announced that the roster will double the size with upcoming DLC. The first of which is RWBY’s Blake Belladona, as featured in this new trailer here.

The reaction so far has been negative. It’s good that developers are upfront with their future plans, but this made the game looks like a bad deal at launch.

Blake and one more character will come in as a single DLC (which can be speculated as the last main RWBY character, Yang Xiao Long), while the rest comes in packs of three character per DLC. An All-in-one DLC pack will also be available.

The full 20 character roster on launch is as follows:

Blazblue

Ragna the Bloodedge
Jin Kisaragi
Rachel Alucard
Hazama
Noel Vermillion
Azrael
Iron Tager
Makoto Nanaya
Nu-13
Es

Persona 4 Arena

Yu Narukami
Yosuke Hanamura
Chie Satonaka
Yukiko Amagi

UNIEL

Hyde
Linne
Waldstein
Gordeau

RWBY

Ruby Rose
Weiss Schnee

If you are still up for a new anime fighter, Blazblue Cross Tag Battle will be out for the PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch.
