Big Walk Sold A Million Copies In Six Days

Big Walk, the multiplayer “walker-talker” by House House, has sold a million copies, publisher Panic announced.

The new game by the developers of Untitled Goose Game reached that milestone in less than a week, six days to be precise.

The announcement post specifically mention “sales,” not “players,” despite the game being readily available for PS Plus subscribers as August 2026’s monthly game.

That should signal that there is an appetite for multiplayer games. Though not the live service kind with recurring monetisation schemes.

Big Walk’s design choices that makes proximity chat and interactivity within a group of 2-12 players have resonated with at least a million players. It’s kind of like a “friendslop” game, the sort-of derogative new genre label for games designed to be played with close group of friends and usually made with a small scope or budget/effort, hence the “slop.”

With that in mind, Big Walk is better described more as a “friendgourmet”game, specifically the one served in a large shareable platter as a communal meal.

Big Walk will have you and your group of friends take on a, well, big walk, across a large world with puzzles to solve along the way. It sounds simple, but the magic of it is how the game is designed for you to feel the presence, and the lack of presence, of your friends with inventive puzzles that works best when everyone uses the proximity chat option.

Big Walk is out now on PS5, PC (Steam) and Nintendo Switch 2 with cross-play support via sharabel room codes.
