Battletech, the turn-based strategy game that shares the same universe as the Mechwarrior games, is getting an expansion. Or DLC. Called Flashpoint, it’s adding more content, up to 30 hours worth, on top of the base game.
The expansion introduces Flashpoints, a series of missions tied with unique storylines (includes crew conversations and choices to make) that is increasingly hard but with the payoff of rare loot at the end. Some missions restrict the tonnage of your deployed ‘Mechs and others would not allow you to repair them in-between missions.
Alongside that, Flashpoint will add three new ‘Mechs, one new environment (Tropical) and one new mission type, Target Acquisition, where you have limited time to “triangulate an enemy installation”. Use of light and medium ‘Mechs are necessary.
Battletech will be receiving two more expansions in this manner. A season pass to receive all three expansions is also now available. Battletech is out now on the PC via Steam. The Flashpoint expansion will be out on November 27th (28th for Malaysia)
