Battlefield 6 To Be Revealed

EA and the Battlefield team are set to reveal the next Battlefield game, now officially called Battlefield 6, on July 24.

The reveal trailer will premier via YouTube.

Battlefield 6 is being created by not just DICE, but a good number of EA studios worldwide (Ripple Effect, Criterion Games and Motive) are all hands on deck to make this a return to form to the massive multiplayer FPS, and hopefully avoid the mistakes of the previous title in the franchise, Battlefield 2042.

EA is betting big on Battlefield 6 being a big success. It comes at the cost of the Need For Speed series, which Criterion is currently the caretakers of, to be put on ice as they revert back into being a Battlefield support studio.

The Battlefield series was once renown for its massive scale for a multiplayer FPS, with large maps and player counts.

The numbering system of the games has been a mess, though. Some titles used the numbers to indicate the year of conflict (1942 and 1943 are World War II, 2042 for near-future combat, 2142 for sci-fi), normal numbered entries are modern-day conflict (3,4 and now 6) but Battlefield 1 which isn’t the first game in the series covered World War I, while Battlefield V also did World War II.

There is no release date for Battlefield 6 yet, but it’s likely we will know that soon enough.
