ASUS has announced new gaming laptops from its TUF series, which generally has been offering affordable prices. The new TUF Gaming FX505 and FX705 are a step up from the previous FX504. But thanks for having a whopping number of eight different specs, there’s something for everyone, no matter your budget for PC gaming is.
The FX505 and FX705 comes in two different tiers. The body is now made of metal with gold trimmings. The keyboard is now fully RGB-lit rather than just in red.
As for the specs, there are five variants. The cheapest FX505 sports similar specs to the refreshed FX504 featuring the unlikely combo of the 8th-gen Intel Core i5 and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060. It also only has 4GB of RAM.
The other four, two more FX505s and two FX705s are equipped with a 144Hz refresh screen with a choice for either the GTX 1060 or the less powerful but still decent GTX 1050Ti.

The cheaper variants of the FX505 and FX507 has the same body design but in gamer red seen in previous models. These variants lack a few features: no RGB keyboard (only red), no 144Hz display and the body is made of plastic instead of metal. They still provide value for money, however. Pricing starts at RM3,699.

All these variants have the same HyperCool cooling system that cools the CPU and GPU separately and thin bezels.
If you are in the market for a gaming laptop with a 144Hz screen that looks slim and rather robust (it is military-grade- MIL-STD-810G tested), than these might be what you’re looking for. Just… take your time and weigh in the many, many variants available to suit your needs and budget.
