Ubisoft’s latest open world game, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is out now.
The long-running series that used to be about stealth-action that have transitioned into action-RPG has finally gone to the historical setting fans have been clamouring for decades: medieval Japan. Specifically, the 16th century.
Shadows brings back the two protagonists system last seen in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate as players take control of shinobi Naoe and samurai Yasuke.
This is the first AC title to launch only on the current 9th-gen consoles (PS5, Xbox Series) and brings some new tricks to the Anvil game engine, which includes dynamic seasonal weather, real-time lighting and shadows and even destructible environments.
With development led by Ubisoft Quebec, the team responsible in helming the collective Ubisoft development team in making Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Shadows sees the series head back into open world action-RPG territory after a short departure with the previous Assassin’s Creed game, Mirage.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows is out now on the PS5, PC, Mac and Xbox Series X|S. Check out our review of the game here.
