Arithmetic Puzzler Electrological Releasing In Early Access This November

Here’s a little brain teaser of a game. Electrological is a puzzle game developed by solo indie developer studio Kinjo and published by Phoenixx.

It’s premise is a simple one. Produce a specific voltage output—a whole number—by laying down a bunch of jigsaw piece where each of them contains an arithmetic operation (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) that changes the voltage value.

Electrological is essentially a jigsaw puzzle game with maths and a an electronic, PCB-ish aesthetic.

The game previously won Bandai Namco’s March 2023 GYAAR Studio Indie Game Contest, which means this game has some pedigree already.

Electrological’s puzzles extends a beyond placing jigsaw shapes, as trickier levels require players to make use of radio wave chips to transmit across long distances and redirect electricity flow. And if you can find multiple solutions to the puzzles, you can score extra points.

The premise of the math puzzles in Electrological sound pleasant, and can be a fun way to introduce younger players into learning and loving mathematics and electronic engineering (a field of study where you absolutely need to love maths).

Electrological will launch first as an Early Access title, with plans to add more content even beyond the eventual 1.0 launch.

If you want to get in early, Electrological will launch in Early Access on PC (Steam) on November 21.
