At PAX West, EA and Bioware have announced that Anthem will indeed have a demo. Just three weeks ahead of the game’s proper launch, those that pre-ordered the game or have an active Origin Access or EA Access subscription will be able to try the game out on February 1st.
While it’s cool to see them stop calling what is essentially a game demo a beta test, especially that close to release, it is unfortunately following a new trend of locking demos/betas behind pre-orders.
In other news, a new trailer for the multiplayer RPG/shooter is now available. It is focused on telling you how the storytelling works in a multiplayer game, which boils down to “the hub area is instanced”. Of course, there will be choices to make in the game, though it all boils down to an either-or binary choice rather than a full-on dialogue wheel.
Anthem will be out on February 22nd, 2019 for the PS4, PC and Xbox One.
