Budget games or games that get regular enough deep discounts that is worth every penny.
This category may need some changing for next year should it return. The category is both too specific- which meant many games priced RM51 on Steam did not make the cut- and too general that we also put games that got regular discounts on the nominations list as well.
Still, what is left are still quality games that are on the cheap you should check out.
Into The Breach is a small game with tight game design, making it a perfect strategy tactics game about giant robots fighting kaijus. Lethal League Blaze continues to refine the Smash-like fighting game but you smash balls for damage.
But then we have the AAA games that managed to got in. Sunset Overdrive got in thanks to its new PC (Steam, Microsoft Store) release. Need For Speed Payback, arguably Ghost Games’ best NFS game yet, managed to got in because it got on sale pretty frequently this year, at lower than RM50.
However, one game managed to capture our hearts the best in this category, the choose-your-own-adventure/board game/visual novel with multiplayer, Monster Prom. Woo hot monsters, read well written dialogues, and screw/help your friends to get their dates for prom night! Also, that haunting surf rock from Russian band Messer Chups is just a perfect, obscure, match for the game.
Congratulations! Check out here for our full review of Monster Prom.
