AMD Launches Ryzen 5000 G Series APUs, Coming To OEM Desktops First

AMD has announced the launch of the AMD Ryzen 5000 G series of APUs for desktop PCs.

These are Zen 3-based 7nm CPUs just like the rest of the Ryzen 5000 series, but this one includes an integrated Radeon graphics chip. So you don’t need a proper discrete graphics card to run games or make use of GPU power when running certain software.

The initial launch sees 12 different chips from this range, from a Ryzen 3 up to a Ryzen 7, all equipped with Radeon graphics already in the CPU.

It’s not necessarily the best way to play the latest games on the highest settings, but it should do the job for less demanding titles.

Expect to see OEM desktops to make use of the APUs first, no word on when you can individually buy one for home use.
