Acer Unveils Two New 4K 120Hz Gaming Monitors With HDR

Acer Malaysia just unveiled two new 27-inch gaming monitors that supports 4K resolution and HDR yesterday.

The Acer Predator XB3 (XB273K) and Acer Nitro XV3 (XV273K) share a lot of similarity though as you expect, priced differently. Both monitors has a 27-inch 4K IPS panel and has DisplayHDR 400 certification, meaning they are ready for HDR content.

The monitors have a refresh rate of 120Hz, though it is possible to crank it up to 144Hz as well. The XV3 supports AMD FreeSync whilst the XB3 uses Nvidia G-Sync to combat screen tearing. The XB3 has 4ms response time while the XV3 is only 1ms, though the XB3 compensates that by having wider colour gamut (90% of DCI-P3) and more vibrant colours with Quantum Dot technology.

The Predator XB3 also have additional features like multiple settings and profiles users can save and switch to. Add to the more pronounced branding around the monitor, it is the premium choice, retailing at RM4,599 starting this December.

The Nitro XV3 retails at RM2,999 and is available mid-November.

These monitors sounds great for use with gaming PCs and competitive gamers who would take advantage of the high refresh rate. But it also should work well for console gamers who needs a 4K screen with HDR, in particular those that have a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X which utilises the two features.

In addition, at the same event, Acer also announced a new fashion line of T-shirts, collaborating with local fashion brand Mortar Pestle.
