Blizzard is continuing to realise their huge esports ambitions with the opening of their very own esports arena. Simply called the Blizzard Arena, this venue is fit for hosting esports events and includes practice facilities for players, a merchandise store for fans, and also some good production features which includes multiple sound stages and control rooms.
The Blizzard Arena is located in the Burbank Studios area, Los Angeles, and will open on October 7. The first event it will play host to is the playoffs for Overwatch Contenders Season One. No doubt this will be the location of battle in the inaugural Overwatch League season as well. The Hearthstone Summer Championship will also be held there on October 13. Expect other events from Blizzard games to use the venue as well in the future.
