For the first time in Malaysia, Sega is hosting a launch event for a video game release.
Sega will be hosting the Yakuza 3 Kiwami & Dark Ties Launch Event here in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This will be held on the same day of the game’s launch, February 12 from 6-8 PM.
The special event will feature live on-stage game demos, trivia sessions to test your Yakuza/Like A Dragon knowledge, and even karaoke sessions. While not specified in the press release, surely someone will be singing Baka Mitai.
The launch event will also have a lucky draw session and the appearance of Ryosuke Horii, Producer and Director of Yakuza 3 Kiwami & Dark Ties. Ryosuke Horii will also be signing autographs.
It’s not just lucky draw winners that will walk home with something in hand. Attendees of the launch event will get “event-original freebies” which includes a T-shirt, logo key chain and a sticker pack.
The Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties Launch Event is a closed-door event, however, so if you’d like to attend, you’ll need to sign this form here.
Space is limited and submission doesn’t guarantee attendance, but that shouldn’t stop a true LAD fan from meeting other like-minded folks and a member of the development team. Event location will only be disclosed to selected attendees.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is a remake of the 2009 video game first released on PS3 that also includes a whole new spin-off game. Yakuza Kiwami 3 Kiwami brings the brawler RPG to the Dragon Engine, retelling the tale of when Kazuma Kiryu managed to get out of the underworld and start an orphanage, only to be pulled back into a web of drama.
Meanwhile Dark Ties, technically a Like A Dragon Gaiden game like Like A Dragon Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii is, chronicles a whole-new tale starring Yakuza 3 antagonist Mine, where players will see how the businessman gets pulled into the criminal underworld and became the threat that Kiryu face later in Yakuza 3.
This isn’t the first time we see Sega created a remaster/remake and bundled it with a whole new side game, see Sonic X Shadow Generations.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties will launch on February 12, 2026 for the PS4, PS5, PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.
