Overwatch 2 New Hero For Season 4 Revealed – Lifeweaver

Blizzard has revealed the next new hero to join the free-to-play hero shooter Overwatch 2 in Season 4, beginning April 12.

The new hero is called Lifeweaver, a support hero. Hailing from Thailand, Lifeweaver is the 37th hero to join the roster and the second to join the roster as part of the live service seasons after Kiriko.

Lifeweaver’s full name is Niran PruksaManee, and like many Thai folks, has a nickname. His is Bua- lotus flowers in Thai.

He is openly pansexual and is voiced by GMMTV star Phuwin Tangsakyuen.

Blizzard really does be ticking those diversity boxes, but it’s cool to see some Southeast Asian hero representation after Echo, the robot that speaks a bit of Singlish.

This is Lifeweaver’s kit:

  • Weapon
    • Healing Blossom
      • Hold to charge a healing burst. Release to heal a targeted ally
    • Thorn Valley
      • Rapidly fire a spread of projectiles
  • Ultimate
    • Tree Of Life
      • Place a tree that instantly heals allies upon sprouting and continues healing periodically as it lives
  • Abilities
    • Petal Platform
      • Throw a platform that springs upwards when stepped on
    • Rejuvenating Dash
      • Dash towards your travelling direction and lightly heal yourself
    • Life Grip
      • Pull an ally to your location, protecting them as they travel
  • Passive
    • Parting Gift
      • On death, drop a gift that heals the first person (enemy or ally) to pick it up

As you can see, Lifeweaver’s kit is a bit advanced, requiring players to be aware situationally. Being able to grip an ally to safety, dash out of danger, pull out platforms to give allies a height advantage (or to an enemy to throw them off from tracking the team), and even have to consider where you might die so that you don’t heal up the enemy are some of the things you need to consider playing this hero.

Lifeweaver will be unlockable starting in Season 4, which starts on April 12. The Premium Battle Pass grants you to unlock him instantly. He is also available to be tried in the training room, custom games, and the limited-time game mode Bob And Weave which requires no extra purchase.

Overwatch 2 is out now on PS4, PS5, PC (Battle.net), Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
