Need For Speed Unbound Vol 2 Update Adding Multiplayer Cop Chases, New Car, More

The first free content update for Need For Speed Unbound is now ready to be unbound. Labelled as Vol 2, the new update adds a smattering of new things to do while driving around Lakeshore, especially if you’re playing the multiplayer mode Lakeshore Online.

Cop chases will now be a multiplayer affair as other racers can join and help out when racing online. Help out, as in, help take them down while the original car in hor pursuit runs away scot-free.

Three new cars will be added with the Vol 2 update. Though technically two of them are cars already being used by rival AI racers, one of them requires an EA Play subscription to unlock, and the one new car- if it is a car- remains a mystery. It’s only being marked as “the ultimate luxury”. Is Need For Speed getting its first Rolls Royce? We don’t know until the update drops.

UPDATE 22/02/23: Looks like “the ultimate luxury” is the Mercedes Maybach S680. The Maybach badge is up there with Rolls Royce when it comes to luxury cars so it checks out. This is indeed a new car to Need For Speed. Plus, it has parts to customise. You can put a massive wing and a widebody on it. And remove the rear bumper.
