Now that we’re done with the initial three drops of free DLC for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, what’s next? More free DLC for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, of course.
Revealed during the November 2025 State Of Play Japan broadcast, four more racers will be joining Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds as free DLC. Everyone can race as them once they are released. And looks like Sega and Sonic Team will be continuing the current trend of new free racer per month up to February 2026, at least.
Joining Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds are Nights from Nights: Into Dreams (releasing in December), AiAi from Super Monkey Ball (January 2026), and—this is a deep cut only true Sonic The Hedgehog fans would know who they are but the rest of us don’t—Tangle and Whisper from the IDW Sonic The Hedgehog comic series (February 2026). The comic series run started in 2018 and is still ongoing.
Nights and AiAi will come with their own machines. Tangle and Whisper don’t have a signature machine, but they are two seperate racers.
That’s not all. More collaboration content is coming to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. This time, the game will be featuring popular Japanese influencers including Crazy Raccoon, Rejekun and a certain Inugami Korone from hololive production. The collab content are in the form of decals and songs.

Sega is teasing that there will be at least six more racers to be added to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, not taking account on the premium crossover characters like SpongeBob SquarePants.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is out now on PS4, PS5, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch, and will be available for Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4. Check out our review of the game here.
