Microsoft Confirms Xbox Series Consoles Won’t Arrive Officially In Malaysia

Xbox has a very limited reach in Southeast Asia due to its consoles and services have limited availability in the region. If you’re not in Singapore, Xbox might as well not exist.

Unfortunately, this will continue with the launch of the Xbox Series X|S next-gen console. The folks at Lowyat.net has reached out to Microsoft Malaysia if the Xbox consoles will be coming to the country. And the answer? No plans to launch them in Malaysia.

Lowyat reached out for the statement as a response of seeing Kakuchopurei receiving the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S from Microsoft. KKP are a gaming website based in Malaysia, and based on Lowyat’s report, they have received the shipment from the folks at Xbox but not via Microsoft Malaysia.

It’s interesting to see that, despite the Xbox having no support in countries like Malaysia, they are still willing to reach out to media outlets outside their supported regions. Maybe there’s hope for Xbox to expand their coverage here in Southeast Asia?

Currently, only PlayStation consoles have official support and availability in Malaysia.
