Level Infinite To Publish Shift Up’s Next Big “Cross-Platform” Game, Project Spirits

Level Infinite announced that it will be publishing the next game by South Korean developer Shift Up, Project Spirits.

Shift Up recently made its name in two fronts, on the mobile space with its free-to-play shooter Goddess Of Victory: Nikke (which is published under Level Infinite) and the action-RPG Stellar Blade, published by Sony Interactive Entertainment (PlayStation).

The former is unique take on a gacha game, featuring cover-shooting mechanics. The latter is a single-player game inspired by character action games and soulslikes.

Project Spirits will be a “cross-platform” game for PC, consoles and mobile. Interesting way of saying multi-platform, but likely will include cross-platform features.

The game is developed using Unreal Engine 5 and is a collaboration between Shift Up and Yongxing Interactive, an affiliate of Tencent (Level Infinite is Tencent’s publishing label). Not much is known about publicly about Yongxing Interactive, but the press release of the announcement says that it has a core team of senior developers experience in making “ACG games” or rather, made games where its audience are part of the ACG (animation, comics, games) community—the same folks you expect to play Genshin Impact, Wuthering Waves and even Nikke.

Not much else is known about Project Spirits, which itself is known to be in development for some time other than a keyart, which features Shift Up’s specific brand of art style. But looks like Shift Up’s future is more intertwined with Level Infinite than it is with PlayStation.

No release window has been provided for Project Spirits.
