Gran Turismo 7 January 2026 Update Adds Three New Cars Including A Xiaomi

It’s back to normalcy when it comes to Gran Turismo 7 updates. After a bumper of a content update with the Spec III release last December, the racing game is back to the usual three cars per month cadence at the start of 2026.

The Gran Turismo 7 January 2026 content update, Update 1.67, will be adding three new cars. Two of which have been revealed ahead of time. Two of which are also happen to be race cars.

The Hyundai Elantra N TC fits both under the previously revealed cars coming to GT7 and also a race car. The touring car spec of the Hyundai Elantra N sedan is a nice complement to the previously added road-going model. The “N” in the Hyundai’s performance brand is supposed to stand for either Namyang, where the South Korean car manufacturer is based on, or Nürburgring, the hallowed grounds where manufacturers test their cars to the limit (that happens to also be a public toll road when no racing or private test days are happening there).

Speaking of the Nurburgring, the Xiaomi makes its debut in Gran Turismo with the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra. The Chinese brand that Malaysians in the early 2010s remember for doing online flash sales for powerbanks in a time when shopping online isn’t as ubiquitous today, or more commonly known now more for their smartphone and smart devices, now happens to make battery EVs. The car’s quick too, the SU7 Ultra is currently the record-holder of the fastest production EV to lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The uninitiated might mistook this EV as a Porsche.

And finally, and sticking to the German connection here, there’s the Porsche 911 GT3 R (992). The 911 looks more or less the same to the common layperson, but this is the latest version of Stuttgart’s GT3 contender based on the current Porsche 911 model, the 992. After Ferrari gets their much-needed new GT3 car, now it’s Porsche’s turn.

Fans who compete online in the Gran Turismo World Series, or just race online, will be delighted to have another new race car, something they’ve been clamouring for ages as compared to other live service racing games, GT7 is a little behind when it comes to having the latest race cars. The game is still lagging in the featuring WEC Hypercars/IMSA GTP models, and the one it has now (The Toyota GR010) is already outdated as of this year.

Other than the cars, don’t expect much out of this free content drop, as always. There are three new World Circuit events to complete, new Scapes (static photo mode) locations with the new “California Roadsides” curation, an Extra Menu item to reward players for collecting Hyundai N cars and that’s about it.

Patch notes can be found here.

The January 2026 update for Gran Turismo 7 goes live later today. The game is out now on PS4 and PS5.
