GTA VI Has A Launch Trailer Featuring Love, Violence And Justice

Grand Theft Auto VI is about to launch soon, so we’re getting a launch trailer a whole five weeks ahead of launch.

The 1-minute-30-seconds hype cut that can be easily turned into an ad gives another new glimpse of Vice City as players will see through the eyes of the power criminal couple of Jason and Lucia.

There a lot of love in this GTA VI trailer, in how we see more of Jay and Lou’s dynamic as they rob together, shoot together, fall into a pool together and shower together. There’s a lot of violence from all the shootouts, bodily contact and a quick cut of a person being chucked into the back of a airboat that might have shown more visceral cuts if the footage lingered just a teensie bit.

Most interesting from this launch trailer is developer Rockstar Games’ continuous flex on bringing A-lister rockstars, or rather acclaimed musicians, to come together and make an original song. There is Justice in the trailer.

The launch trailer is to the tune of Flower In A Hurricane, a new song by French House duo (and by some accounts, heir to the Daft Punk throne) Justice, featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.

Justice and Tame Impala had collaborated before in the summer hit song that you’d want to loop over and over Neverender, so Flower In A Hurricane is another collab between the three individuals, this time bringing in the RNB singer and the Australian rock band with an alliteratively satisfying name along for the ride.

Flower In A Hurricane will also be featured in Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, which previously featured similar big collabs like this song. The song itself is now streaming.

Unless a massive issue happened that will render this launch trailer poorly aged, Grand Theft Auto VI will be out on November 19 on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
