Nivalis Nights is out now. First announced in 2021 simply as Nivalis, the cosy life sim game from the developers of Cloudpunk set in the same city of Nivalis is finally out, publisher 505 Games and developer Ion Lands announced.
In Nivalis Nights, you get to live life as just a person who now calls the cyberpunk city home. You’re given a noodle stall to start, and from there, you can develop the business by sourcing ingredients and then go upwards from there.
If the business side hustle is not really what you’re looking for and just want to take it easy, Nivalis Nights lets you roam the city as you see fit, whether on foot, by public transit, take on a boat, or even hailing a taxi service—be on the passenger side this time around as opposed to Cloudpunk where you drive those floating taxis about town.
A city is all about its people, so expect to meet and learn, befriend, and be loved by, the folks you meet in town.
You can decorate your house too. There’s also fishing. Nivalis Nights may be set in a cyberpunk city, but it also has nice bright beaches and oceans as well as towering buildings covered in smoke, smog and rain.
The art style is an interesting mix of voxel-based environments and regular-looking non-pixely characters.
While many a game set its premise in a cyberpunk world, not many lets you just be a normal person living there. If the idea of such a setting for what’s essentially a cosy game, unless you count the murder mystery that’s also a thing in the city, Nivalis Nights might be right up your alley.
Nivalis Nights is out now on PC (Steam) and will also be released on the Epic Games Store at a late date.
