Dinosaur Polo Club continues to add more content to the minimalist traffic sim/puzzler Mini Motorways. The latest update, dubbed the Merlion’s Marina adds a new map: Singapore.
Singapore is one of the chosen maps voted by the community back in May, so now you can lay down roads and highways that span the island of this Southeast Asian gem. Singapore also featured in Mini Metro, the other sim/puzzler based on making train lines.
The Singapore map features the Singapore River that leads all the way to the Marina Bay as its distinctive feature.
(While we’re here, a map based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the city of many ridiculous spaghetti highways would be an excellent new addition should the team is still open to new map ideas.)
Included as part of the Merlion’s Marina update of Mini Motorways is the addition of te reo Māori as a language option. Dinosaur Polo Club is based in Aotearoa, the name of the country we call New Zealand in Maori. The team worked with accredited translator and interpreter Kristin Smith from Kūwaha Ltd to add Māori language support.
This addition coincides Te Wiki o te Reo Māori (Māori Language Week), an initiative backed by the New Zealand government to encourage the use of the language celebrated during the week of September 14th.
Dinosaur Polo Club will be adding more free maps and content updates throughout the year. The next map is teased to be “just around the corinthian.” Perhaps somewhere sunny by the Mediterranean?
