Rumbleverse Shutting Down In February

Rumbleverse, the promising free-to-play wrestling battle royale, is shutting down.

The game is currently in Season Two, and by the end of that on February 28, 10 AM CST (March 1, 12 AM Malaysia Time, +8 GMT), the game will go offline.

“This project has been a labour of love to create a new experience in a popular and highly competitive genre for games,” the blog post reads. “If you’ve been a part of that journey, we thank you – whether you jumped into the first playtest after our reveal, or just shot yourself out of the cannon for the first time.”

All purchases made in Rumbleverse, including on the Battle Pass and Brwalla Bills, will be refunded, regardless on what platform you play on.

A final update for Rumbleverse will see the store closing down, all players receiving the current Battle Pass with double XP gains.

Developed by Iron Galaxy, Rumbleverse brings a melee-focus twist to the usual battle royale genre. But it looks like the game just didn’t take off, even with the backing of Epic Games as a publisher.

In Iron Galaxy’s own blog post regarding the impending closure, the team is still hopeful that Rumbleverse may return again. But at the meantime, as stated in the post:

“Iron Galaxy will keep making games. It’s our passion and our purpose. Our people are filled with skills and inspirations to keep the world playing.”
