Here’s What Happening In LaLaport Newest Attraction, ACG BASE

In our travels throughout Kuala Lumpur, one of the newer additions of the list of places locals and even tourists alike could step out from the heat and into the cool air-conditioned breeze. Is the LaLaport Bukit Bintang Shopping Centre, situated where the old Pudu Prison once stood.

But this isn’t exactly a history trip feature as recently, they are coming into the Anime, Comics and Games scene with their latest addition that is ACG Base, of which we were invited to have a look around the multiple shops and attractions that they have within the 1st and 2nd floors of the shopping mall. And here are some of our highlights.

One of the biggest outlets that have inserted themselves into this segment of the Mall is none other than Animate, one of the largest retailers of ACG in its home country of Japan.

Similar in size as their normal stores around the Tokyo area, it has the most merch for series that many anime fans would recognize and also includes a Pop-up store segment for any seasonal anime show to conquer that part for the month, and an Animate café that also serve food and beverages that are based on that season’s show.

But you feel you need something that’s a touch more local, then look no further than K+ by Kadodawa Gempak Stars, our local distributor of comics and manga that includes the likes of Delicious in Dungeon and our local hit, Lawak Campus, both of which are having a collaboration that you can see in its store right now.

And if that’s gets your tummy rumbling, then you can also visit most of the themed cafes that you could visit across the LaLaport area, like Mori Mory, which have various desserts and food on the menu, Doko Koko, which also boast a retail shops that includes the likes of Hololive and more, have a cafe on their side store sell drinks based on anime shows.

Then we have stores like Xumi for more interesting choices of gifts or even merch from a variety of series like Blue Archive and even Persona 5 Royal.

And not to mention food options like ORBcafe, which right now serves Onigiri and will expend more of the menu in the following season. or even the T1 Win cafe, which celebrates Champions of the League of Legends Scene and their star players, which include South Korean’s eSports star, Faker.

And future stores will include stuff like an official KLP48 storefront for the idol fans and even the first Godzilla Store outside of Japan right here in Malaysia, and that’s stated to open sometime soon.

ACG BASE in LaLaport is perhaps set to be one of the highly sort after places for anime fans here in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Definitely would checking out when you stop by the big city in the near future.
