Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom Is A Collectathon Platformer But You’re A Car But There’s No Jump Button But You Still Jump Around Anyway

Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom sounds like a very descriptive title for an indie game. But the game, developed by Panik Arcade and published by Those Awesome Guys, has a neater hook to it.

As a yellow taxi that goes vroom, where you navigate around platforming levels inspired by the Nintendo 64 games where platformers where king, you don’t have a dedicated jump button. So the yellow taxi isn’t the Mach 5, it’s a normal yellow taxi. But you’ll be jumping around anyway,

Drive through ramps, go up walls, bounce on multiple inflatables, and drift around tight corner as you collect coins and meet various characters. All without a button that makes you go slightly higher and shout “wahoo!”.

“Our taxi can reach places no car is able to. It has the speed of Sonic but the technicality of Mario”, said Matteo, game designer of Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom. ‘’No jump button’ is the limitation we want you to break!”

Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom is out now on PC (Steam). There’s a demo that transfers progress to the full game.
