There were quite a strong demand to see Yakuza’s Kazuma Kiryu to be a guest character in Tekken 7, but that did not happen with the current season pass- which added Fatal Fury’s Geese Howard and Final Fantasy XV’s Noctis Lucis Caelum as guest characters.
But still, the demand is still there it seems, and if anything, the only roadblock to Kiryu’s inclusion is now up to Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada, as the Yakuza side are totally on board should the crossover is happening.
Yakuza series producer Daisuke Sato was asked of the potential Kiryu popping in other games during the Yakuza 6: The Song Of Life Essence of Art Exhibit livestream recently. The crowd immediately shouted “Tekken” and what followed was a large cheer.
“As far as it comes down to the whole Tekken thing, if Harada-san actually says he wants to use Kiryu, then hey,” Sato said before the crowd erupted again in cheers. He pointed out that Kiryu had mad cameo in other games before, it was in Everybody’s Golf 6 for the PS3 and PS Vita.
It’s not a confirmation of any sort, of course, but the dream to see Kiryu in Tekken is still alive and well.
