Another extreme remake is coming in the Yakuza series. Yakuza Studio has announced another remake and it’s based on Yakuza 2.
Unlike Yakuza Kiwami that’s built on the system from Yakuza 0 (which used the same engine from the PS3 games), this time it will use the new Dragon Engine first seen in Yakuza 6: Song Of Life. That means the game will be 30fps but with seamless transitions into battles or interiors and a richer graphical look.
Like Yakuza Kiwami, Yakuza Kiwami 2 will also add new content. Loveable madman Goro Majima will be a playable character for a small scenario called “Truth Of Goro Majima”.
The remake has been long in development we have to assume- Yakuza 6 was shipped in Japan last year. Yakuza Kiwami 2 is expected to launch in Japan in December 7, though it may take a while until the English version arrives.
