Xbox announced Monthly Subscription ‘Game Pass’

Microsoft’s Xbox division announced that they would launch a monthly subscription service that will allow gamers to play over a 100 Xbox One and “backward compatible” Xbox 360 titles right on their Xbox One and Windows 10 devices.

It is called ‘Game Pass’ and for USD 9.99 (around 45MYR), it allows subscribers to download games directly to a console/device and play them.

And by the sounds of it, it might be similar to Playstation Now, but with a difference, as PS Now only streams the games that you bought, Game Pass actually downloads the full Xbox title, which coincidentally is also similar to EA’s Access service.

Microsoft has not released a title list yet but looking at the picture above suggest that it might be a good mix of AAA titles with indies. and they say that more titles will be added to the service each month after release. Also, with an active subscription later on, you can buy the games in the catalog at a discounted price instead of paying it full at the digital store.

This is actually a good way to enjoy games if you are an owner of a Xbox One and can’t afford new releases. you can try out different types of genres and a wider variety of games, some of which might be titles that you might have missed before. So do try it out when the subscription launches this Spring.
