Team Ninja, the folks behind the Nioh series and this year’s Chaos-killing Final Fantasy spin-off, announced its new game on the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase 2022 stage, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.
Instead of supernatural medieval Japan like it was in Nioh, Wo Long is set during the times of The Three Kingdoms (220 to 280 AD China). With a supernatural twist, of course.
You play as a nameless militia soldier surviving a demon plague that has hit the Later Han Dynasty. You will be making use of your swordplay (based on Chinese martial arts- which includes the implementation of “The Five Phases”) and other skills should you want to survive this “masocore” game.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is being produced by long-time Nioh producer Fumihiko Yasuda and Masaaki Yamagiwa, who was the producer of Bloodborne.
Fans of soulslike can prepare for another test of strength as Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is targeting an early 2023 release for the PS4, PS5, PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It will also launch on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass on day-1 of launch.
