Co-op first-person brawler-shooter with abilities Warhammer: Vermintide 2, is a hit. Developers Fatshark has announced the sales numbers just four days after its release on March 8th, for good reason.
“We are proud and happy that gamers worldwide have taken Warhammer: Vermintide 2 to their hearts,” said Martin Wahlund, CEO of developer Fatshark. “500,000 games sold was a milestone that we had, but not less than a week after release.”
Gamesindustry.biz reports that the 500,000 unit sales was reached after six months for the first game. So to see that record broken in mere days proved that Vermintide 2 is doing really, really well right now.
Vermintide mixes the co-op FPS formula of Left 4 Dead with RPG progression and loot and set in the Warhammer universe. We won’t be seeing another Left 4 Dead coming, maybe not so soon now that they will start making games again, but good to see an indie developer finding a niche and doing so well to serve it.
