Ubisoft will be partnering with Level Infinite in a “distribution partnership” for the upcoming free-to-play mobile game Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence in select countries in Southeast Asia.
The countries are the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Indonesia.
Level Infinite, a publishing label under Tencent, has a market presence in SEA as they help publish PUBG Mobile. PUBG Mobile is big in Malaysia, or at least big enough for Level Infinite to engage in making localised content.
The Division Resurgence will soon be available to pre-register. Those who have pre-registered via Ubisoft’s Google Play Store page in the previously mentioned countries will need to register again, now that a different label will publish the upcoming game.
A limited regional beta will be available for The Division Resurgence for the mentioned countries.
Also, the official announcement post also mentions that the regional versions of The Division Resurgence operate on different servers. As a result, matchmaking and game progress for the regional version won’t be available on the global version, which Ubisoft will directly publish.
The Division Resurgence is a new game based on The Division 1 and 2, where sleeper agents from the Strategic Homeland Division, or The Division, are activated as the US goes into disarray and are tasked to bring back stability in the country.
However, Resurgence isn’t a port of the PC and console games to mobile, it will have its own storyline and different specializations. But at least the setting should be familiar, it’s winter-time New York. And it should bring “an immersive AAA gaming experience to mobile players”.
The game will be available on iOS and Android devices.
