Ubisoft Has A New Logo

The French publishers have a bit of a new look. The Ubisoft swirl, as they like to call it, have now been slightly tweaked to be more monochromatic in nature, like most logos in today’s age have become.

“The new swirl is an evolution of our existing logo that marks a new era for Ubisoft,” as mentioned in the accompanying blog post. “One with an increased focus on live and digital games as well as a player-centric approach to creating immersive worlds.”

The new simplistic logo will be tweaked to accommodate the different worlds and setting its games- as well as comics, movies, TV shows, books and even amusement parks. Similar to what EA has been doing.

Interestingly, the post also took a look back at past logos of the company. The previous swirl was marked by the acquisition of Red Storm, which brings the Tom Clancy series into the fold. The previous one with a rainbow was the age of its mascot platformer Rayman.

It’s a small step at strengthening its brand. At least the logo is doing better than the Ubi name. Questions about the exact pronunciation of the company name (You-bee-soft or Ooo-bee-soft?) do happen occasionally.
