Square Enix’s upcoming tactical RPG, formerly referred to as Project Triangle Strategy, now has a release date.
And looks like the name stuck, it’s now just called Triangle Strategy. This is the next game developed by the same developer team behind Octopath Traveller, Team Asano.
As you can see from the trailer, Triangle Strategy will sport the hybrid of pixel graphics but in a 3D space, which Square Enix dubs as “HD-2D” graphics.
In the kingdom of Norzelia, you will be tested on your convictions by having to make choices based on three ideals: Utility, Morality, and Liberty. How you make your choices will determine how the story branches and who will join your party as companions. So, instead of the usual binary moral choice, now you have three choices.
As for the gameplay, you can expect a Final Fantasy Tactics-esque tactical RPG experience.
Triangle Strategy releases on March 4, 2022 exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
